Pathfinder Basic Staff Training
Welcome to this self-paced Pathfinder Basic Staff Training (PBST) intended for newly elected Pathfinder club leaders and staff members, prospective Pathfinder Master Guide Trainees (MGTs), Master Guides from other conferences or countries, who are newcomers to Ontario, and other interested individuals.
As you watch each training video, be ready to answer the questions that will appear on your screen randomly using the Q&A online form. Please provide answers based on what you learned from the presentation. After watching each video, you will be asked to take a graded online quiz. Passing mark is 70%.
Overview:
This workshop presents an introduction to club ministry from the Pathfinder Club perspective. It compares the programs and purposes of club and their role in faith development. It also provides a brief history of the club ministries, insignia, and programs, illustrating God’s leading and care.

Overview:
This workshop presents the structure of a club from unit to executive committee. It outlines job descriptions and expectations for each club leader and reviews the qualities of a Christian servant leader. Club structure from local to General Conference is outlined. It also covers club regulations on membership, attendance, forms, etc. and Conference policies including reporting, finances, uniforms, and insurance.

Overview:
This workshop focuses on how to minister to Pathfinders and how to enable them to minister to others. The Personal Growth, Spiritual Discover, and Serving Others sections of the Investiture Achievement curricula will be reviewed in order to gain an overall understanding of how the Pathfinder program intentionally incorporates Pathfinder club outreach. Also, some of the AY honors classified as Spiritual Growth, Outreach, and Heritage will be reviewed as well as techniques for integrating outreach opportunities into all Pathfinder activities.

INSTRUCTIONS
Thanks for your willingness to learn the basics of pathfindering so as to equip you for effective Pathfinder leadership and ministry. Here are a few reminders and instructions:
1. The deadline to complete the seminars, including the submission of the Q&A online form (for each seminar) and passing the online quizzes is March 31, 2024.
(Note: The graded online quiz is different from the Q&A online form)
2. Please do not share the access code or video links to others. Just request those interested to join the training program to go through the proper registration process.
3. Kindly maintain the integrity of this ministry and training course by “doing your honest part.” Please watch each video in its entirety as though you are attending an in-person seminar with the intent to learn both the theoretical and practical aspects of pathfindering.
4. Before taking the online quiz per presentation, kindly see to it that you have watched the whole video to give you better chances of getting a passing mark of no less than 70%.
5. Please follow instructions as prompted. Don’t forget to check out the resource tabs under each presentation to access the Q&A online form, seminar materials, and other online resources.
